Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic counseling using a problem-solving approach to address students’ moral problems. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to explore the counseling process, students’ experiences, behavioral changes, and supporting and inhibiting factors. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving counselors, students, and relevant educational personnel. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source and technique triangulation used to ensure credibility. The findings indicate that Islamic counseling begins with identifying students’ moral problems and their underlying causes, followed by problem analysis, formulation of alternative solutions, decision making, implementation, and evaluation. The integration of Islamic values, including honesty, responsibility, patience, self-control, respect, and accountability, provides an ethical framework for students’ decision making. The approach contributes to improved self-awareness, emotional regulation, personal responsibility, and morally appropriate behavior. Its effectiveness is supported by counselor competence, institutional support, parental involvement, and a positive educational environment.
